Charteroak Holiday Lodges in CornwallCharteroak Holiday Lodges in Cornwall

Cornwall… Open all year round

Unlike many European destinations, which tend to close their doors for the Winter due to the weather, beautiful Cornwall remains open.  It may be a tad colder in the air, but there is still plenty to see and do when visiting the region.

With less traffic, shorter queues and even reduced admission fees to some attractions, there is little not to love about this wonderful destination. The trick is to make sure you dress appropriately for those winter coastal walks and day trips out. You’ll not be disappointed as the views you can capture are stunning.

There are many attractions open throughout the year such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan that hold a number of events through the festive season. There is also the National Maritime Museum where you can take a journey into the Viking world, the Eden Project which will have you believe you really are in warmer climates and the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay, which allows you to marvel at sea life in action from the warmth of indoors and not a single step taken on a boat!

The Winter is also a seal pup season which makes it a great time to visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and see the great work they do to support and care for these wonderful creatures, and if you are a lover of animals, the Zoo at Newquay, the Lobster Hatchery in Padstow and the Paradise Park in Hayle should also be on your list of places to go.

No Cornish stay is complete without tasting some of the local produce and Cornwall doesn’t disappoint in that area, from Pasties to cream teas to the local scrumpy cider, there is no place for diets on this stay. Drop into the cornishciderfarm.co.uk

After all that you’ll need a great place to stay and it just so happens our luxury lodges are also available to rent throughout the year. Fitted with all the modern appliances you can make yourself at home in the warmth of your lodge where you can rest those tired feet in the privacy off your very own sunken hot tub! Cornwall may be a slower pace, but it never stops providing wonderful holidays, building fabulous memories.  Be sure to book your stay this Winter and be smug that you did!
